Mrs. Jana Nagyová has been a Member of the European Parliament since June 2024. She brings long-standing expertise in EU legislation, energy policy and subsidy programmes, developed over more than two decades in advisory and management roles.
She holds a Master of Science in Business Economics from the Bratislava University of Economics, a PhD from the University of Pardubice and completed a course in Contemporary European Studies at the University of Sussex.
Before her election to the European Parliament, she worked as an Independent Expert Adviser on EU legislation and energy policy, and previously as Expert Adviser on EU affairs, state aid and renewables at EUFC CZ s.r.o. She also advised the Czech Ministry of Finance and held senior positions in EU project development and integration.
She has served in local and regional government in Jihlava and the Vysočina Region, including as Deputy Mayor and Regional Council member.
Francesco Corvaro is the Special Envoy for Climate Change of the Italian Government and a Professor at the Università Politecnica delle Marche. Appointed in 2022, he represents Italy in high-level international climate negotiations, including UNFCCC processes, G7, and G20 working groups. He plays a key role in fostering multilateral dialogue and advancing Italy’s climate diplomacy, particularly within the Mediterranean and the European Union.
With a background in energy systems and environmental engineering, Professor Corvaro brings academic and technical expertise to global climate policy. He is committed to promoting sustainable development, resilience, and innovation through science-based and inclusive approaches. His work supports Italy’s leadership in the global transition toward a low-carbon, climate-resilient future.
Experienced energy economist and project leader with over 20 years in regulation, policy development, and strategic decision support at national and EU levels. Proven track record in managing regulatory frameworks for natural gas, district heating, and now renewable fuels, as well as representing ownership interests and leading multicultural teams. Commited for actions against climate change, skilled in data interpretation, economic analysis, and project coordination, with international experience at Eurostat, the European Commission, and consultancy roles. Holds a PhD in Forestry Policy and an MSc in Engineering Economics, fluent in English and Romanian, with additional knowledge of German and French.
The last 19 years have been dedicated to PRIO and the biofuels industry, working in different areas: production, quality/research, management, and regulatory issues. She led the transition process from the unit, designed to process vegetal virgin oils, to a production unit based on wastes and residues.
She is currently COO at PRIO Bio, with responsibilities for the Biodiesel Production Unit, Supply of raw materials for biodiesel production and Innovation & ESG for the entire PRIO Group. Represents the company in several national and international forums related to the field of biofuels. She is also on the board of EWABA, European Waste-Based & Advanced Biofuels Association and is President of ABA- Advanced Bioenergy Association in Portugal.

Mat Stone is VP Business Development & Low Carbon Fuels, at ResourceWise. Mat founded PRIMA, an award-winning research and data firm specializing in the low carbon transportation fuel markets since 2015. PRIMA joined ResourceWise in 2022 to add a carbon vertical alongside verticals in forestry, pulp and paper, petrochemicals, methanol and biogenic carbon. Mat has worked across energy and agricultural commodities in pricing, research and broking in the US, Europe and Asia since 1998. He has established several listed price benchmarks for emerging low carbon commodity streams as well as pioneering market research into new energy streams. PRIMA’s data and analytics are widely used across the energy industry for their insights into the renewable energy interface between policy, markets and fundamentals. Mat’s current responsibility include developing fully traceable MRV technology solutions for biogenic carbon products.
Jannes Gehl studied biochemistry at Leipzig University, earning both his B.Sc. (2020)
and M.Sc. (2023) with a focus on biomedicine and molecular biology. He also
completed additional training in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), quality
management (QMR), and internal auditing. In 2024, he joined the Association Quality
Management Biodiesel (AGQM) as a Quality Assurance Manager. In this role, he
supports member companies on quality and analytical topics and is responsible for
research and development, international round robin tests for biodiesel, vegetable oils
and used cooking oils, as well as additive testing (no-harm tests).
Educated in agricultural, but also political sciences. In the beginning of his career associated with agricultural organizations. From 2011 the Director General and Member of the Board of the Polish Chamber of Biofuels (KIB). From 2015 also Director General of the Polish Association of Oil Producers (PSPO). In 2015-2017 and from 2025 Vice-chair of the Working Group “Bioenergy/biotechnology” at COPA-COGECA. In 2015-2018 Member of the Board of European Association of Oil Producers FEDIOL. Author of numerous publications and articles in the field of agriculture, renewable energy and transport biofuels. Member of the Global Council for Innovation in Rapeseed and Canola (GCIRC), Member of the Commission for the Registration of Varieties of Oil and Textile Plants at Polish Central Research Center of Crop Cultivars. Awarded by Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development the honorary badge “Distinguished for agriculture”.
Martin Kubů holds mechanical technology engineering degree from Technical University of Liberec and PhD degree from The University of Chemistry and Technology Prague (UCT). First half of his career he served in numerous commercial positions in Czech Refining Company (CRC), operating both major CZ petroleum refineries, recently fully owned by OrlenUnipetrol. He was responsible predominantly for selling of motor fuels & JET. Finally, he served here as a member of the CRS´s board. Before he completed his “fossil” professional era he spent one year as HR and general affairs director in the refinery PARAMO, a small local lube & asphalt producer. Later he entered for four years to specialty chemicals business in Synthesia, major CEE producer of pigments, dyes, nitrocellulose and special organics to serve within the board as a commercial director. Then he started his “renewable” part of the career, moving to AGROFERT Group, currently as a director of the Motor fuels & renewables division. He was responsible for an entry of AGROFERT into renewables, and amongst others he led a greenfield investment to PREOL, a subsidiary producing liquid biofuels, and he brought AGROFERT into JV producing bioethanol. He encouraged AGROFERT to develop biogas business, achieving current 11 agriculture biogas plants. Most recently, he has been responsible for developing trading desks to coordinate group energy purchases (electricity & gas) and is currently involved in holding´s ESG agenda. He now serves in number of statutory company boards within AGROFERT group, and he represents company in the board of Czech Association of Petroleum Industry and Trade (CAPPO) and in the board of Czech Chemical Industry Association (SCHP) having broad experience from EU affairs. For three consecutive terms he has been appointed as a member of the Scientific Board of UCT Prague.
Alain Mathuren holds a law degree from the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL). Alain is currently Communication Director at Concawe, which he joined in 2009. Previously, he worked for Interel PR & PA as Associate Director for the International Public Relations practice. Alain has 30 years of experience in communication. He first launched a field marketing agency in 1987, which he managed for 17 years before selling it to a French company in 2003. He subsequently joined an advertising agency as Retail Communication Manager and Brand Communication Client Director.
Adriano Cordisco is CEO of Refuel Solutions, an Italian company developing advanced technologies for biodiesel integration in hard-to-abate sectors. He specializes in regulatory affairs for biodiesel technologies and oversees the company’s patented BiodieselKit solution that enables the use of B100 biodiesel in existing diesel engines. Refuel Solutions is becoming an international player in the decarbonization of logistics, construction, agriculture, and marine sectors.
Jay Murray is Head of Corporate Development for Optimus Technologies, a dual fuel conversion technology enabling heavy duty diesel engines to seamlessly operate on B100, the lowest total cost pathway for fleet decarbonization. In his role, Jay manages a broad portfolio of strategic business development activities including new market development, strategic finance, and regulatory affairs.
With over 20 years of executive and management experience across sustainable industries, he is a recognized authority in Central European biofuels sector. Under his stewardship, Envien Group achieved significant growth , spanning operations across several European countries, India and Brazil.
Throughout his career, Peter has combined business leadership with active involvement in academia and industry development. He earned his degrees from Comenius University in Bratislava and the School of Management/City University of Seattle. He served as a long-standing member of the Board of Trustees at the Slovak University of Technology and currently holds the position of Vice-Chairman of the Executive Board at Slovak Association for the Production and Use of Biofuels (ZVVB). He also serves as vice-chairman of the board of Czech biofuel producer Ethanol Energy and vice-chairman of the board of the Indian joint venture Zuari Envien Bioenergy.
Adrian O’Connell is EWABA’s representative in any internal and external technical-related matters for the biofuels industry. Adrian provides valuable support across different legislative files and the effective use of waste feedstock supplies, ensuring carbon accounting rules for existing and new fuels or pathways. He has extensive experience in European fuel standardisation committees and fuel methodology working groups via his Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) expertise, at the same time supporting our members with any GHG-related issues. Prior to joining EWABA, Adrian acquired extensive experience in the renewable fuels and biofuels sector from his 8-year stint at the European Commission’s Joint Research Center, in the Energy, Transport and Climate directorate. In previous roles, he has served as technical expert at the European Biodiesel Board and as an Exectutive Board member for Ireland’s first large scale biodiesel production facility at Green Biofuels Ireland. Adrian holds a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Limerick with his thesis devoted to the transformation of used cooking oils and animal fats into biofuels.
Pavol Piešťanský has been a member of the Presidium and Chairman of the Central Slovak Region of the Česmad Slovakia association since 2019. In 2021, he was elected President of the association. Since 2022, he has also served as Vice President of the National Union of Employers – a tripartite association of employers in Slovakia. He is active in various committees related to road freight transport (CEMT, Intermodal Committee, etc.) and is a member of the Parliamentary Committee for Transport and Construction. He has been involved in road freight transport since 2010, when he became CEO of the transport company NAD Martin, and in 2016 also CEO of Yellow Express. He has also gained experience in the field of transport and logistics at COCA-COLA HBC Slovakia as Distribution and Logistics Manager for Slovakia, and at Würth International Trading as Production and Logistics Manager.
Gloria is an environmental scientist with expertise in mitigating greenhouse gas emissions in the road transport sector. Her work at Zemo Partnership over the last decade has focused on accelerating the market uptake of zero emission vehicles and renewable fuels. This has involved undertaking evidence based research to influence UK Government climate change policy, designing policies and initiatives to support the adoption of renewable fuels, and providing advice to the transport operators on fleet decarbonisation. Gloria’s leads Zemo’s various renewable fuel assurance schemes in the UK and internationally; these target low carbon fuels used in commercial vehicle fleets and international motorsports championships.
Ewald-Marco Münzer is CEO and Managing Partner of Münzer Bioindustrie GmbH, a family-owned Austrian company that has grown into one of Europe’s leading producers of waste-based biodiesel. Under his leadership, the company has expanded internationally and built a fully circular business model – from the collection of used cooking oil through advanced biofuel production to innovative consumer solutions such as the nationwide “Münzer Box” system at OMV fuel stations.
Beyond the company, he plays a key role in shaping European biofuel policy: since 2022 he has served as President of the European Waste-based & Advanced Biofuels Association (EWABA), where he advocates for the introduction of higher biodiesel blends like B10 and for fair market conditions for European producers. Recognized as EY Entrepreneur of the Year Austria 2023 in the Sustainability & Greentech category, he represented Austria at the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year in 2024, highlighting his commitment to sustainable innovation and energy transition.
Manfred Baumgartner is Managing Director at BDI-BioEnergy International GmbH. In 1994, he received his master’s degree in chemical process engineering from Graz University of Technology, Austria, and subsequently joined the predecessor company that later became BDI in 1996. From 2003 to 2018, he served as Technical Executive, overseeing the engineering, construction, and commissioning of BDI biodiesel plants worldwide. Starting in 2018, he took charge of sales for special technical applications and retrofit projects. Since 2024, he has been Managing Director of BDI, applying his extensive experience to further drive the successful realization of pioneering projects in the biofuels and chemical recycling industries.
Eurowag is a leading digital platform and payment solutions provider focused on Commercial Road Transport (CRT). Based in Prague, Matthias Maedge is Vice President of CRT Decarbonisation and responsible for the business development of Eurowag’s decarbonisation products and services, including alternative fuels and eMobility. Prior to that, Matthias Maedge was the Secretary General of the European Gas Mobility Association – NGVA Europe. With stations in Berlin, Madrid, Brussels, and Geneva, Mr. Maedge worked for over 15 years in trade associations and as a lobbyist in the automotive and energy sectors and played a key role in developing decarbonisation strategies in road transport. During his time as an industry advocate in Brussels, Mr. Maedge served, among other roles, as General Delegate to the European Union and Head of the International Road Transport Union – IRU. Previously, Matthias Maedge worked as a research associate in the German Parliament (Bundestag), has been a Reserve Officer in the German army, and holds a master’s degree in political science, media and communication studies, and English.
Detlef Evers has been working for the MVaK since 2015; the MVaK is a Berlin-based association representing the interests of key companies operating along the value chain for the production of waste-based and advanced biofuels. The members of the MVaK are based in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. Detlef Evers has been working in the field of biofuels since 1995. Before Detlef joined the MVaK he worked for Archer Daniels Midland in different management positions. His first task in the biofuels segment was to market biodiesel produced by the first large-scale German biodiesel plant in Leer.
Xavier Noyon is the Secretary General of the European Biodiesel Board (EBB), based in Brussels. The EBB is the association for companies producing biodiesel (HVO and FAME) in the EU and represents producers using all feedstocks: food/feed crops, waste, residues, and other innovative biogenic materials. Xavier brings in experience from previous roles at PEFC International, ESTIF – European Solar Thermal Industry Federation, LOGOS Public Affairs and Orgalime. He holds a master’s degree in European Public Policy from Institut d’études politiques de Strasbourg.
Arezki brings over 7 years of experience in the energy transport sector. As a Partner at GREENEA, he leads the development of multi-energy solutions that accelerate the energy transition in transport and industry, while supporting the transport and logistics strategies of major European players.
He is also the founder of TRACIFIC, a company dedicated to biofuel traceability and carbon footprint assessment. TRACIFIC has developed innovative software already adopted by 4 low-carbon energy distributors in Europe and more than 500 transport companies.
Theresa Haas is a climate and energy policy specialist who bridges in-depth analysis with on-the-ground experience. After studying political science with a focus on sustainable development in Würzburg and Amsterdam, she worked at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and for an NGO in Tanzania on energy transitions in Sub-Saharan Africa. Returning to Germany in 2023, she became a CleanTech policy analyst at DWReco, focusing on climate and energy mandates. Since late 2024, Theresa advises climate and energy clients at von Beust & Coll. in Berlin — especially the implementation of the EU’s Renewable Energy Directive (RED III) in EU member states.
Eric Woydte is Policy Officer for Climate Policy, Hydrogen, and Fuels at the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) in Berlin. In this role, he focuses on the scale-up of renewable fuels (hydrogen, biofuels, and e-fuels) and serves as a key contact for issues related to the CO₂ fleet regulation for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.
Sebastian’s role as the Manager for Transport Management at HAVI Austria involves overseeing the efficient and reliable transportation of time- and temperature-sensitive products across three distributions centers in Korneuburg, Grossebersdorf and Vomp. This includes managing fleet operations, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, optimizing routes for timely deliveries and collaborating with teams to maintain customer satisfaction and supply chain integrity while minimizing costs and environmental impact.
Dickon Posnett works on market development for renewable fuels through regulatory and legislative incentives. In Europe, he is the President of the European Biodiesel Board (EBB), where he chaired the Advanced Biodiesel Committee for 10 years and has been a board member for eight years; and he represents Argent Energy in EWABA, the waste-based biodiesel association, as a board member. In The Netherlands, Dickon works with the biodiesel associations MVO and NVDB, and chairs the NBAA, an alliance of waste-based biodiesel companies. In the UK, he sits on the board of the RTFA, the association for renewable transport fuels. Dickon is responsible for trade defence matters, working directly with DIT in the UK and with the EU Commission through EBB.
Domenico Mininni is an EU Public and Regulatory Affairs professional, and currently the Policy Director at the European Biodiesel Board (EBB), representing EU FAME and HVO producers. He dedicated his studies to international economics and politics in Italy and France, as well as EU policies in Brussels. During his 13-year career, he has always worked on EU transport and decarbonisation policies, both in Public Affairs consultancies and in business associations (NGVA Europe – the European Natural and bioGas Vehicle Association – and EUROMOT – the European association of internal combustion engine manufacturers).
Daša is the Government Affairs Director of the European Waste-based & Advanced Biofuels Association – EWABA since March 2022. She has long year experience working in the EU affairs in the field of renewable energy and low carbon fuels after leading the Brussels office of the biggest Central and Eastern European biofuel holding Envien Group for over 5 years.
Daša has been following the EU energy and climate agenda with special focus on transport sector from the very beginning and analysing the impact of individual legislative proposals on the future of European transport sector. At EWABA, we believe that renewable and low carbon fuels are essential and will work alongside electrification not only on the energy transition but for the long-term decarbonising targets of the European Union’s transport.
Ben is the Head of European Sustainability Compliance for Greenergy, a biodiesel producer and international fuel supplier. Greenergy also operates a haulage fleet in the UK and Ireland that delivers fuel to Greenergy’s customers.
Ben has been at Greenergy for over 11 years and is a Board member of EWABA. He also supports the government and regulatory affairs function at Greenergy liaising with UK and EU regulators.
Leonidas Kanonis is the Director for Communications & Analysis at the European Waste-based & Advanced Biofuels Association (EWABA) since January 2021. Leonidas has acquired extensive experience on the biofuels industry following his 3,5 years stint at Argus Media, where he became the deputy editor for the biofuels desk after covering the market for crop and waste feedstocks as a senior market reporter. In previous roles, Leonidas worked as an energy analyst for a consultancy in London and the UK’s Office of Gas and Electricity Markets (OFGEM). Leonidas studied Environmental Economics at the University of York and has been working in the renewable and bioenergy markets for his entire career.
Giovanni Gianni is Business Development Director for BioEnergy at Cargill Ag&Trading EMEA, where he leads the commercial development of the company’s bioenergy portfolio beyond the traditional B7 market in Europe. With more than 20 years of international experience in petroleum refining, bioenergy, renewable fuels, and sustainability, Giovanni has held leadership roles spanning diesel blending, biodiesel manufacturing and trading, biogas, and global waste oil supply.
Before his current role, he served as Commercial Manager and Managing Director of Bioro NV, one of Europe’s top-tier biodiesel plants and founded Ghent Renewables, a joint venture focused on waste feedstock storage and pre-treatment both based in Ghent, Belgium. Giovanni holds an MBA from Vlerick Business School and an MSc in Management Engineering from Politecnico di Torino. He is based in Milan, Italy.
Ignacio Leone is a seasoned professional with over 17 years of experience in the Oil & Gas and Bioenergy industries. He is currently Business Development Director at Connex Trading, Global Ambassador at Singularity University (Silicon Valley), and co-founder and Head of Production and Sustainability at the Pan-American Chamber of Advanced Biofuels (CAPBA).
He has held leadership roles at Explora, Argentina’s top producer of second-generation feedstocks and biofuels, and began his career at YPF S.A., Argentina’s largest integrated oil and gas company, gaining expertise in operations, engineering, and management.
Ignacio holds a degree in Chemical Engineering, an MBA, and certifications in International Trade, Logistics, and Exponential Technologies. He is committed to fostering sustainable and innovative solutions in the energy sector.
Federico Solfrini is Manager in the EU Goods Transport team at the Permanent Delegation of the International Road Transport Union (IRU) to the EU (Brussels). IRU is the world road transport organisation representing 3.5 million companies worldwide, including one million in the European Union.
He leads on several strategic dossiers and technical files relevant for commercial road transport, including the implementation of the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR), including on initiatives aiming at the broader rollout of alternative fuels infrastructure across the EU. As IRU’s designated representative in the European Commission’s Sustainable Transport Forum (STF), he serves as the main contact point in the sub-group on Heavy-Duty Vehicles, contributing with expert insights to the EU’s policymaking process on decarbonising freight transport.
With several years of experience in EU public policy, Federico has worked at the intersection of transport, energy, and climate policy. In his previous role at ICF, he managed high-profile projects for DG MOVE, DG ENER, and DG CLIMA, contributing to the Fit for 55 package and the EU Green Deal. He also held roles at the European Commission’s DG MOVE and DG HOME, and at the European Council on Foreign Relations (Rome), focusing on critical infrastructure, innovation, and energy policy.
He holds a PhD in International Relations from the University of St Andrews, and two master’s degrees from LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome, one with a focus on economics and energy policies of the Arab countries and another in Political Science and International Relations.
Patrik Herpák is an expert in liquid biofuels with the Slovak Biofuel Association (ZVVB) and Business Development Manager at Envien Group (part of AZC, Slovakia), a leading biofuels and renewable energy company. Since 2023, he has led the development of new biofuel products (such as higher biodiesel blends) through projects in Slovakia. Earlier in his career, he held sales positions in the petrochemical and aviation fuel sectors.
